About the Role
A well-established automotive retailer is seeking an experienced
Service Technician to join its busy workshop team in Newbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking to work within a professional dealership environment, offering ongoing training, career progression and uncapped bonus potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct vehicle health checks and identify any additional work required.
- Work in line with dealership and manufacturer processes.
- Support junior technicians and share technical knowledge where appropriate.
- Liaise with customers when required, providing updates on vehicle repairs and servicing.
- Attend ongoing manufacturer and technical training courses.
- Complete workshop documentation and job records accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Ensure all work is completed to high quality and productivity standards.
Requirements
- Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- MOT Tester qualification advantageous.
- Previous dealership or franchise experience preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and workmanship.
