THE ROLE
As an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician, you'll be responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and trim aspects of vehicle repairs, ensuring components are safely removed, repaired or replaced, and correctly refitted following accident damage.
Key responsibilities include
- Carrying out mechanical, electrical, and trim strip and refit work on accident-damaged vehicles.
- Removing and replacing damaged components in preparation for structural and body repairs.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues resulting from vehicle damage.
- Reassembling vehicles following Panel and Paint repairs, ensuring all components are correctly fitted.
- Carrying out functional and safety checks to confirm vehicle systems operate correctly.
- Working closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors, and Workshop Controllers.
- Ensuring all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer repair methods and required quality standards.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and the working area in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
ABOUT YOU
This opportunity would suit an experienced MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician / Vehicle Technician / Bodyshop MET Technician with strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
You'll ideally have
- Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within an accident repair centre or professional Bodyshop.
- Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and vehicle trim knowledge.
- Experience with vehicle strip-down, component replacement, and refitting.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a busy workshop team.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
