THE ROLE
As a Paint Sprayer / Multi-Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality paint repairs while supporting other areas of the bodyshop, including preparation, polishing, SMART repairs, and minor panel or MET work where required. You'll play an important role in ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to customers to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles and panels for painting through sanding, masking, filling, and priming
- Mix and apply paint using manufacturer-approved paint systems
- Carry out blending, polishing, and finishing work to achieve a flawless finish
- Complete minor SMART repairs, preparation work, and cosmetic panel repairs where required
- Support MET strip and refit activities on minor repairs when necessary
- Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient workflow
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer repair methods and company quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment while completing repairs within agreed timescales
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a highly skilled and adaptable technician who enjoys working across multiple aspects of the vehicle repair process while consistently producing exceptional workmanship.
- Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer within an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre
- Additional experience in preparation, polishing, SMART repairs, or minor panel and MET repairs
- Strong knowledge of modern paint systems, colour matching, and refinishing techniques
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality repairs
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a busy workshop team
- Positive attitude with strong organisational and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- ATA Accreditation advantageous but not essential
