An established and highly regarded commercial vehicle dealership is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join its professional workshop team in Nottingham.
The business is part of a large, well-established commercial vehicle group with a strong reputation within the industry and a long history of providing high-quality vehicle sales, servicing, maintenance and repairs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician looking for a stable, long-term career within a professional workshop environment.
Working Hours
Two shift patterns are available:
9:30am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
or
8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
30-minute unpaid break
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
- Work on both franchised and non-franchised commercial vehicles.
- Carry out a wide range of defect repairs, including major unit overhauls.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Use manufacturer diagnostic systems, computer equipment and specialist tooling.
- Complete job cards and service sheets accurately using online systems.
- Follow warranty procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out MOT preparation and testing where qualified.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.
- Work as part of a professional workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
- The Successful HGV Technician
We're looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Technician with
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- IRTEC accreditation is preferred.
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
- A proactive and professional approach to work.
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
