THE ROLE
As an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs on a wide range of accident-damaged vehicles.
Working to manufacturer-approved repair methods, you'll ensure every vehicle is repaired safely, efficiently, and to the highest possible standard while supporting the smooth flow of the repair process.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components to manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, braking, air conditioning, and electrical components
- Carry out wheel alignment and geometry checks using specialist equipment
- Remove, replace, and calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) components where required
- Work closely with Panel Technicians and Paint Technicians to ensure efficient vehicle throughput
- Identify additional damage and communicate findings to the Vehicle Damage Assessor or Workshop Controller
- Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair methods, BS10125 standards, and company quality procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment while complying with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
ABOUT YOU
- We're looking for an experienced, quality-focused Multi-Skilled MET Technician who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship while working efficiently within a fast-paced accident repair environment.
- Previous experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
- Competent in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and trim strip and refit work
- Experience working on modern vehicle electrical systems, hybrid, and electric vehicles is advantageous
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturer repair methods and industry repair standards
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity and quality standards
- Positive team player with excellent communication skilla
- Full UK Driving Licence required
