THE ROLE
As an Experienced Bodyshop Prepper & Polisher, you will play a key role in preparing accident-damaged vehicles for paint and completing final finishing and polishing work to an exceptional standard. You'll work closely with the wider bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and leave the workshop looking their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles and panels for paint through sanding, filling, masking and priming
- Carry out high-quality machine polishing, mopping and final finishing
- Remove paint defects, dirt inclusions and imperfections to achieve a factory-quality finish
- Carry out final preparation and inspection before vehicles move through the repair process
- Work closely with Paint Sprayers, Panel Technicians and MET Technicians to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
- Identify and rectify preparation or finishing defects before vehicle completion
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard
- Follow manufacturer repair methods, bodyshop quality standards and Health & Safety procedures
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and quality-focused Prepper & Polisher who takes genuine pride in producing excellent finishes and understands the importance of preparation in achieving a first-class repair.
- Previous experience as a Prepper, Polisher or Prep & Polish Technician within an automotive bodyshop
- Strong experience in vehicle preparation, sanding, filling, masking and priming
- Confident using machine polishers and professional finishing equipment
- Strong understanding of paint defects, polishing techniques and final finishing
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Able to work efficiently within a busy accident repair environment
- Reliable, professional and highly motivated
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- IMI and/or ATA qualifications are advantageous but not essential
