The Opportunity
An established commercial vehicle operator is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join its busy workshop in Coalville.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional and well-equipped team, working on a varied fleet of tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers.

The Role
- Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers.
- Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Repairing and replacing components including
- o Braking systems
- o Suspension
- o Steering
- o Axles
- o Transmission components
- Completing repair documentation accurately using digital workshop systems.
- Carrying out vehicle modifications and component installations where required.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and Health & Safety procedures.
- Working as part of a proactive workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
About You
We're looking for someone with
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles.
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
Desirable
- Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Experience preparing vehicles for MOT.
- Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and workshop software.
