THE ROLE

As an ATA Qualified Bodyshop Mechanic / MET Technician, you'll be responsible for stripping, repairing and rebuilding accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards.

You'll carry out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs while working closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults relating to collision damage.
  • Remove and refit suspension, steering, braking, cooling and drivetrain components.
  • Carry out four-wheel alignment checks and adjustments where required.
  • Ensure vehicles are protected throughout the repair process using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient workshop productivity.
  • Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair methods, ATA standards and health & safety procedures.
  • Carry out final quality inspections to ensure vehicles are returned to pre-accident condition.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced Bodyshop Mechanic / MET Technician with excellent technical knowledge, outstanding attention to detail and a passion for delivering first-class repairs.

You’ll ideally have

  • ATA Accreditation in MET or Accident Repair (Essential).
  • Proven experience as an MET Technician or Bodyshop Mechanic within an automotive accident repair centre.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and trim repair experience on modern passenger vehicles.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturer repair methods and bodyshop procedures.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment and completing mechanical repairs associated with accident damage.
  • Ability to carry out four-wheel alignment checks and adjustments.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet productivity targets.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative workshop team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality repairs and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
