We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Setter/Operator to join our team delivering design, engineering, and manufacturing solutions for some of the world's most exclusive and ultra-premium car programmes. The role of setter/operator, reporting to the Shop Floor Team Leader, will be responsible for setting and operating 3 and 5 axis CNC machines to deliver a range of components and tooling.
The machine shop and its team play a key role in the manufacturing operation on-site and contribute greatly to the solutions delivered for our clients. Working hours: Monday to Thursday 13:00pm - 23:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for setting 3-axis Vertical Machining Centre (VMCs) with the option to bolt on a 4th axis or 4th and 5th axis rotary table.
- Be responsible for quality control of work, employing a range of inspection equipment to check parts against engineering drawings.
- Be responsible for the setting of 3 and 5-axis machines to run low-volume production jobs.
- Be responsible for the setting of 3 and 5-axis machines to run one-off prototype parts for both in-house and custom customer requirements.
- Be responsible for providing feedback to programmers on new or existing programs to refine the manufacturing process.
- Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, plastics, epoxy tool boards and carbon fibre.
- Ensure that machinery is fully operable carrying out inspection and preventive maintenance where required.
- Approach to all work in a way that ensures the finest quality output, employing necessary checks along the way.
- Possess a flexible approach able to adapt to changing requirements at short notice.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an automotive or aerospace environment. Apprenticeship trained.
