Position: Resident Quality Engineer Location: Chichester, PO18 0SH Company: Autoscan UK Ltd Duration: Minimum 3 Month-Contract Pay Rate: £30-32 Per Hour Ltd Contractor Company Start date: End of July 2025 About Us Autoscan UK Ltd is a leading provider of quality assurance and inspection services to the automotive industry. With years of experience and a commitment to excellence, we partner with top automotive manufacturers to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. We\’re currently looking for an experienced Resident Quality Engineer to support one of our prestigious automotive clients based in Chichester, West Sussex. You\’ll be the first point of contact and escalation for quality issues raised by associates of the customer on site. Once notified of an issue you\’ll be responsible for preliminary investigation of suspect parts and work with the originator to better understand the issue, agree and implement an immediate containment plan. After investigation you\’ll also be responsible for compiling a detailed report of the issue or concern and feedback the findings to the suppliers manufacturing plant based in Italy. Once the report has been completed you\’ll then need to drive the supplier plant to implement both containment and corrective actions at source within their manufacturing plant. The status and outcome of these actions will then need to be communicated to the customer quality teams for acceptance and monitoring and closure. The parts being manufactured on site are plastic moulded interior trim parts with chrome details on some of the parts and are highly visible critical parts for the customer. Applicants should have previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry, be able to communicate at all levels and be familiar with problem solving and 8D methodology.
