Weavers Lodge situated in Castle Cary offers a warm and supportive environment for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs, who may also have Autism, Mental Health conditions, and communication difficulties. Here’s what your role as Team Leader will look like:

  • Righthand Rockstar: Support the management team by overseeing staff performance, providing constructive feedback, and facilitating professional development opportunities for team members. This role involves ensuring that all staff adhere to organisational policies while fostering a positive work environment where everyone feels motivated and valued.
  • Team Leadership Extraordinaire: Collaborate with your team to create personalised care plans tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Your leadership will inspire teamwork and enhance the quality of care provided. Be a practice leader and lead the team to implement best practice, by role modelling and providing feedback and guidance.
  • Personal Care Champion: Lead a team in assisting individuals with daily tasks such as getting dressed, showering, and enjoying nutritious meals. Your leadership will empower the team to provide care that helps individuals feel confident and valued.
  • Emotional Support: People we support will at times communicate using behaviours that others may consider challenging. Providing emotional support, a calm approach, and working to meet people’s needs to reduce times of distress. You will implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and interventions to improve their quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern. Supporting individuals to self-regulate acting in their best interest and within agreed support needs.
  • Activity Coordinator: Oversee the planning of engaging activities that promote joy and well-being. Whether it’s organising arts and crafts, games, or movie nights, you’ll ensure that individuals have opportunities to explore their interests and talents.
  • Life Skills Development Coach: Mentor support workers in guiding individuals to develop essential life skills. From cooking simple meals to managing personal hygiene, your guidance will help foster independence among those in your care.
  • Health & Wellness Advocate: Ensure that health needs are monitored effectively by leading the team in reporting any changes. Your proactive approach will help maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Salary Breakdown:

  • NVQ 3 and 2 years experience in a senior role: £15.25 per hour
  • NVQ 4: £15.50 per hour

Team Leader Shifts:

  • 37.5 hour contract
  • 7am - 10pm

Key Skills and experience required:

  • 2 years experience in a similar healthcare/social care setting and experience in supporting individuals with complex needs, behaviours that may challenge, autism and associated mental health conditions.
  • 2 years experience in a team leader role
  • High level of resilience and the ability to work in a high pressure environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and computer skills
  • Broad knowledge of Learning Disabilities and other related conditions
  • Experience working with people who display challenging behaviour, and a good knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support
