Weavers Lodge in Castle Cary provides a warm, supportive, and empowering home for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities, complex behavioural needs, and additional diagnoses such as Autism, mental health conditions, and communication difficulties.

What You’ll Do as a Support Worker
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals live their best lives. You’ll provide compassionate, person-centred support in all areas of daily living:
- Support Daily Living: Help residents with personal care, meals, routines, and day-to-day tasks — always with dignity and respect.
- Promote Independence: Coach life skills like cooking, budgeting, and confidence-building to help people achieve personal goals.
- Communication & Emotional Wellbeing: The people we support will at times communicate using behaviours that others may consider challenging. Providing emotional support, a calm approach, and working to meet people’s needs to reduce times of distress.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, families, and professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Due to the complex needs of the individuals that we support we do require candidates to have previous experience, including working with people who display challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is desirable, but training will be provided.
Salary Breakdown
- Less than 12 months experience in a similar setting: £14.25ph
- 12+ months experience in a similar setting: £14.75ph
*Experience in a similar healthcare/social care setting and experience in supporting individuals with complex needs, behaviours that may challenge, autism and associated mental health conditions.
