The Company develops and produces multifunctional, lightweight and sustainable components and systems for interior floor, interior trim as well as engine bay and underbody. Based at Hortonwood 30 in Telford and reporting to the Plant Manager the main duties and responsibilities are:
- To lead by example, identify and develop operational teams working in the boundaries of IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO50001 requirements in conjunction with the business needs and customer expectations.
- Promote the 20 Principles for Good Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Behaviour.
- To maintain a safe working environment and actively support the continuing development of a safety culture across the site.
- To manage people in an open, communicative and motivational style, while respecting the needs and requirements of people, processes and customers.
- To identify, develop and implement first line temporary containment actions as to the needs of the business and customers.
- To identify and introduce continuous improvement and change in line with the business needs, while respecting people, processes and procedures.
- To work flexibly as a team, developing team members to achieve their highest potential.
- Ensure that you and your team are aware of, contribute to and follow relevant EHS procedures, processes and practices.
- To ensure all customers receive full, accurate and on time orders.
- SAP Knowledge experience and system management.
- Day-to-day order management, management of deliveries, production plans review.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production.
- Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the purchasing team.
- Maintain supplier adherence tracking and ensure suppliers respond in timely manner.
- Creation of daily sequencing plans and shop orders management.
- Prepare the monthly SOP (Sales & Operations Planning), to obtain a levelling of volumes and to optimise the resources (men, machines, materials and the capacity readiness of suppliers).
- Implement and drive the weekly MPS (Master Production Scheduling) to ensure a levelled production plan and protect production lines from customer’s demand variations.
- Responsible for maintaining correct parameters in the system for all parts.
- Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedules.
- Forecasts and schedules the correct volumes of materials, for goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies.
- Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
- Support and suggest the effective management of inward and outward flow of inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
- Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit and assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
- Continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes or unforeseen circumstances.
JOB HOLDERS PROFILE / SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Extensive experience within a Tier 1 automotive supplier in most recent role.
- Knowledge of implementing Lean Manufacturing, TPS (or similar), IATF16949 standards.
- Evidence of successful change management programmes.
- Strong people manager and able to demonstrate good awareness of working with people and team development.
- Ideally educated to a minimum of HNC level.
As a member of the Plant Management Team, the ability to demonstrate Leadership experience is essential to be effective in this role. As a leadership role the post holder is expected to adhere to the highest safety standards and ensure that a visible culture of health & safety is delivered at all times.
