A capital equipment machinery manufacturer, supplier of new technology into the food industry, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team on a short-term contract. Working within the engineering team, you will help build machines, visit sites for setting up machinery, and run data. This is an initial three-month contract, which could be extended. Contract rates to be discussed.
What You Will Do:
- Operate and set up a mobile chemical production system at various customer sites across the UK.
- Assist with cleaning trials, ensuring all engineering equipment is packed, transported, and set up efficiently.
- Use power tools and assemble plastic pipes (solvent weld) as required.
- Monitor equipment, take readings, and log data using a laptop.
- Represent the company professionally on customer sites, providing excellent service and addressing any engineering-related tasks.
- Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site-specific requirements, with training provided if necessary.
What You Will Bring:
- Strong practical engineering skills, with experience in pipe fitting and using hand tools.
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to transport equipment using a long-wheelbase van.
