Our client, a well-known brand car dealer, is seeking a Car Mechanic to join their team in Bury St Edmunds branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the service, repair and maintenance work for customers’ vehicles, making them ready for the road ahead.

Role: Car Mechanic

Hours: Mon to Fri - 5 days - 40 hours or Mon to Thu - 4 days from 7:30am to 6pm. There are no Saturdays, only 5 compulsory Saturdays per annum.

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilising your expanding knowledge of our manufacturer’s vehicles and features you will be responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of our customers vehicles to an exemplary standard within our state of the art workshop.
  • Working as part of a capable and motivated team, you will complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  • You will accurately and skilfully complete and provide diagnostic reports on our customers vehicles.
  • In accordance with manufacture, warranty and dealer requirements, you will complete relevant service documentation, including job sheets, PDIs and service reports.
  • Upon the completion of jobs, through the use of diagnostic equipment and road testing, you will check the level and quality of work that has been carried out.

Requirements:

  • We consider candidates from all backgrounds who have experience working in the Automotive sector within a technical role.
  • Will be qualified to Level 2 NVQ, or equivalent, in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Fantastic communication skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • An Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification or certification would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • MOT Licence would also be beneficial but not essential.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
