Requirements

  • Significant operational management experience and the credibility to operate as a senior manager within our business.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and address root causes.
  • A strong level of numerical ability, ideally including mathematics to A Level standard or equivalent.
  • A strong level of understanding in AI operations and implementation.
  • A systems-thinking approach and the ability to understand how changes in one area affect the wider business.
  • Experience translating operational needs into clear, complete and testable system requirements.
  • Experience managing system development, technology-led change or the continuous improvement of business systems.
  • Strong project management and delivery management experience.
  • Experience of testing, quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience managing external technology suppliers and holding them accountable for delivery.
  • Experience of contract negotiations, commercial reviews or supplier selection.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance cost, value, risk, service and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management and influencing skills across operational, technical and senior audiences.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands, work with a high degree of autonomy and take ownership of delivery.
  • Experience in financial services, consumer credit, motor finance or another regulated environment would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of business analysis methods, software development lifecycles, systems architecture, data, artificial intelligence or automation would be advantageous.
  • A-Level or equivalent (required).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom (required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead our Systems Improvements function and its two direct reports, ensuring effective performance, development and delivery.
  • Create and maintain a systems improvement roadmap aligned with our business strategy, operational need, customer outcomes and risk.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities by understanding operational processes, pain points and performance.
  • Review existing systems, fix poor system design and reduce unnecessary manual activity, duplication and operational risk.
  • Translate operational needs into clearly defined system requirements, process designs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Liaise with our Group-based IT structure and software house.
  • Manage systems and business improvement projects from initial concept and business case through to implementation, including AI-driven improvements.
  • Own delivery management, coordinating internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve the agreed scope, quality, budget and timescale.
  • Establish effective testing and quality assurance, including user acceptance testing, defect resolution and change control.
  • Manage technology suppliers, monitoring performance, service levels, costs, dependencies and delivery quality.
  • Lead or support contract negotiations and supplier selection to secure appropriate service, accountability and value for money.
  • Ensure system changes are embedded successfully and deliver measurable operational and commercial benefits.

We are Auto Money Trust Limited, a business based in Redditch offering a permanent, full-time senior management opportunity as Head of Systems Improvement.
