This is the job
This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape how The AA delivers its tyre proposition at national scale.
As Tyre Network Manager, you’ll build, mobilise and manage a tiered tyre fulfilment network that gives customers access to the right capacity, availability and service quality when they need it.
You’ll help shape the network strategy, secure and manage supplier capacity across national and independent providers, and own network performance, governance and continuous improvement.
Working across Digital, Operations and technology partners, you’ll also help embed suppliers into the tyre booking and fulfilment platform and support controlled pilots and phased scaling.
You’ll thrive here if you combine commercial judgement with hands-on delivery, use data to make informed network decisions and build trusted relationships while holding partners to clear standards.
Your work will help balance customer outcomes, service consistency, network availability and commercial return as The AA’s tyre proposition grows.
What will I be doing?
- Deliver the strategic roadmap for a national tyre network, building the coverage, capacity and opening-hour availability needed to support targeted tyre deflection volumes.
- Identify, assess, contract, onboard and retain suppliers against agreed service and commercial criteria, creating a strong and sustainable provider network.
- Own the network proposition and operating standards, giving high-quality tyre providers a clear reason to join and remain within The AA network.
- Negotiate supplier terms, service levels and contractual obligations, partnering with the Commercial Pricing Product Analyst to support customer pricing, margin and rebate objectives.
- Manage supplier performance through reviews, scorecards and corrective actions, improving availability, fulfilment speed, service quality and customer outcomes.
- Establish accreditation, audit and compliance processes, and design tier-routing principles that protect The AA brand while balancing throughput, customer ownership and network availability.
- Partner across Digital, Operations, technology, contact-centre and roadside teams to embed suppliers, resolve fulfilment exceptions and use demand and performance data to close coverage gaps and support successful mobilisation and scaling.
What do I need?
- You’ll Bring
- Substantial experience in network management, supplier management, commercial partnerships or business development, ideally within tyres, automotive after sales, service, maintenance and repair, or another distributed service network.
- Detailed understanding of garage, fast-fit, tyre or automotive service networks and the operational factors that influence availability, fulfilment quality and customer outcomes.
- Proven experience building, mobilising or materially expanding a multi-supplier national network.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including supplier negotiation, rate structures, margin management, incentives, rebates and performance-based commercial models.
- Strong supplier governance and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to hold partners to account and manage challenging performance conversations.
- An analytical, customer-focused approach, with experience using demand, capacity, geographic coverage and operational performance data to inform decisions and deliver cross-functional improvements.
- Nice to Have
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills, with experience of supplier portals, booking platforms or network management systems.
- A related business, commercial or automotive qualification, or equivalent senior network-management experience.
- Experience designing and implementing service standards, accreditation, audit and continuous-improvement frameworks.
