This is the job:
- We are looking for a Key Assist Technician to contribute to the AA business by providing a comprehensive vehicle opening, key cutting and vehicle programming service to AA members and business customers/organisations.
- You will provide advice and assistance within your own area of competence, ensuring that in other cases where AA members or potential customers require assistance they are directed to the appropriate AA service or department.
What will I be doing?
- Undertaking vehicle opening, key cutting and vehicle programming services on all types and age of vehicle, to the highest standard.
- Maintaining a high level of knowledge in the field of automotive security systems, ensuring that all equipment tooling and programming software can be used in an efficient and correct manner.
- Maintaining an appropriate awareness of information circulated regarding technological and safety developments and how they may affect the diagnosis and repair of motor vehicles.
- Be fully conversant with all communication systems used within the Key Assist operation and ensure that all communication is maintained in a professional standard to both internal colleagues and customers.
- Generate additional sales opportunities for vehicle unlocking, key cutting and vehicle programming to ensure that income generation and productivity targets are met.
- Maintain accurate records of all jobs undertaken and ensure compliance with all laid down procedures to enable correct billing of customers and subsequent audits.
- Ensure all stock relating to keys, transponders and other security devices for automotive vehicles is maintained and accounted for.
- Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is embedded in the culture of the AA to deliver the six customer outcomes of right culture, right information, right delivery, right targeting, right advice, and right post sales treatment.
What do I need?
- Appropriate level of experience, skill and knowledge in the automotive locksmith or general locksmith industry.
- Strong verbal, numerical and communication skills.
- It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with no more than 6 points.
- Natural aptitude for delivering excellent levels of customer service and the ability to deal with the general public.
