We’re looking for a Technology Risk Manager to join our Operational Resilience team within the Chief Operating Office. This is a pivotal role, supporting enterprise-level risk oversight and helping shape the future of technology risk management at The AA.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead and evolve our First Line of Defence (1LOD) technology risk framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk structures.
  • Partner across IT, Change, Digital, Data, and third-party suppliers to identify and assess risks beyond immediate functions, bringing a holistic COO lens.
  • Deliver risk and control effectiveness assessments and support RCSA campaigns to uncover and address technology vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare and present high-quality risk reports, KRIs, and MI to senior leadership, translating complex data into compelling narratives.
  • Facilitate the COO Risk Coordinators Community of Practice and drive awareness and training initiatives.
  • Influence and advise stakeholders at all levels, balancing assertiveness with diplomacy to drive risk mitigation strategies.

What do I need?

  • Broad technology risk experience across multiple domains, with the ability to assess, analyse and communicate risk through compelling narratives that influence decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to build trust, challenge constructively, and navigate complex dynamics with confidence and diplomacy.
  • Creative and strategic thinker who can look beyond the immediate and identify risks across wider COO functions, bringing fresh perspectives to problem-solving.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, GDPR, SOX), with working knowledge of cloud, data governance, systems architecture, and emerging technologies like AI and RPA.
  • Resilient and adaptable team player, comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering under pressure while supporting others and fostering collaboration.
  • Professionally qualified (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, ITIL) or with equivalent experience, and commercially aware with strong analytical skills to draw insight from diverse data sources.
