As a Pricing Analyst Placement Student, you’ll bring your analytical skills to life by joining the AA’s Insurance Pricing team for a hands-on year in industry. Working alongside experienced pricing specialists, you’ll dive into real data, real models, and real commercial decisions that shape how our insurance products perform in the market.
You’ll be involved in analysing key performance indicators, helping us understand customer behaviour, trading trends, and the impact of pricing decisions. Your insights will support the development of smart pricing strategies designed to improve acquisition, retention, and overall value for the AA Insurance business.
You’ll gain an understanding of how our pricing models operate, giving you exposure to the tools, techniques and disciplines used across the UK personal lines insurance market. From exploring pricing methodologies to learning how product design connects to customer outcomes, you’ll gain a well-rounded view of how pricing drives performance.
Technology is central to what we do, so you’ll have the opportunity to work with Python in Databricks, supporting regular reporting and ad-hoc data queries. It’s a great chance to develop practical technical skills while applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
By the end of your placement, you’ll have worked across multiple areas of the pricing cycle, sharpened your analytical and problem-solving skills, and gained valuable insight into a fast-paced, commercially focused area of insurance, helping you shape the direction of your future career.
What will I be doing?
- Producing analysis on a range of key performance indicators to improve our commercial performance
- Supporting the development and implementation of pricing strategies that increase value by optimising acquisition and retention for the AA Insurance business
- Providing support in multiple areas for the build and maintenance of our pricing models
- Learning about the UK personal lines insurance business, about pricing models, conduct and disciplines
- Use of Python within Databricks for maintenance of regular reports & ad-hoc data queries
