This is a management role overseeing a team of 4 sales professionals. There is also an element of direct business development and client management.

The company is part of an independent family-owned business with global market leadership in B-to-B distribution of electrical products, solutions and related services. You’ll be joining a growing organisation in the UK of over 250 associates at one of the UK's leading distributors of industrial automation and control products. They encourage development and progression both within individuals and in the business by constantly moving forward and are open to acquisitions that help to strengthen their skills and offerings to also provide the best for their customers and associates.

ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

You will be responsible for driving our Mechatronics and Vision business development for the UK. The role will have responsibility to drive and establish our Mechatronics business alongside building on the established Vision Solutions offer. Working within the Business Development team, the role is focused on generating new business within our existing and net new customers. Through providing technical knowledge, advice and pre-sales support to external customers by understanding their specific needs and future plans.

We are looking for someone ideally with business development experience and prior knowledge and passion for selling Mechatronic and Vision solutions, as well as specific third-party products that complement the overall offering. The candidate will have a broad interest in engineering and will also be prepared to embrace new and innovative products and talk about them to our customers. The role calls for a person who enjoys interacting with people, creating and maintaining relationships, as well as making a good impression both personally and for the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • To develop and own the strategy for Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solutions in their entirety and ensuring this is communicated across the other company sales teams.
  • Drive the Mechatronics, ICT & Vision team to be proactive in generating new and net new opportunities, through engagement with the sales teams or the teams individual market research of new prospects.
  • Overall ownership of Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solution number across the business.
  • Develop the team to work with other company sales teams on all Mechatronics, ICT & Vision opportunities.
  • Engage with marketing team to promote all solutions across UK business including digital and social media.
  • Work with the business to develop processes to maximise any opportunity.
  • To maintain and continually update other business units on the current Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solutions strategy, ensuring the desired level of sales and profitability are achieved in line with the Company’s goals and objectives.
  • Share project information across the other vertical teams to maximise the opportunity in account.
  • Lead by example demonstrating a proactive attitude to continuous personal development in terms of product/solution knowledge and skills development.
  • Liaise with Regional Sales Leaders, OEM Solutions, End User Consultants and Account Managers to ensure collaborative approach.
