Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing mechanical components, systems, and products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements. The Mechanical Design Engineer will also participate in prototyping, testing, and refining designs to achieve optimal functionality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities for Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Conceptualise, design, and develop mechanical components, systems, and products according to project requirements.
  • Utilise CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to assess design concepts, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure integrated and optimised designs.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses (e.g., stress analysis, thermal analysis) to validate design integrity and performance.
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation to support manufacturing, assembly, and quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, and evaluation of designs to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Resolve design issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout the design and development process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in mechanical design and product development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with project management and product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO, ASME) is desirable.
