We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful packaging manufacturer in Bedford. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of automated production and packaging machinery, completing planned preventative maintenance and responding efficiently to electrical and mechanical breakdowns. Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer:
- The Maintenance Engineer must hold a recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
- The Maintenance Engineer must have previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, packaging, FMCG or automated environment.
- The Maintenance Engineer must be comfortable working a 2's and 3's days and nights shift pattern.
- The Maintenance Engineer must have experience completing planned and reactive maintenance.
Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
- Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Fault finding on motors, sensors, conveyors, bearings, chains, gearboxes and automated machinery.
- Identifying recurring faults and supporting continuous improvement projects.
- Working closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve machine reliability.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work is carried out safely.
- Supporting machinery installations, modifications and improvement projects.
Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer:
- Experience working within the packaging, FMCG or manufacturing industry.
