Controls & Automation Engineer - The
Role: This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll work across the full lifecycle of control system projects—from design and development through to testing and commissioning.
You’ll be working with modern PLC and SCADA technologies, contributing to complex automation systems used in real-world, global applications.
- Design, program, test, and commission PLC control systems
- Develop SCADA and HMI applications
- Troubleshoot and optimise existing automation systems
- Support installation and commissioning activities
- Work with modern SCADA platforms such as Ignition and Win CC

Person: We are seeking applications from Control Systems Engineers preferably skilled with Siemens TIA portal who are looking for a stable, cash rich company who will provide you with a laid back, flexible environment along with plenty of support for development.
You will have
- Solid ability to write PLC & HMI from concept
- Preferably you will also be competent with SCADA software design
- Ability to understand and modify electrical drawings
- Previous site experience including commissioning
- Competent to work autonomously
- Have excellent customer facing skills This is an office based position.
Standard working hours are 7.30-4.30 with an early Friday finish.
All expenses are covered along with an additional daily allowance when on-site.
On a 25% travel year, you can expect to add an additional £6k to your salary.
Any weekends worked/travelled are returned to you as TOIL and are available to take as rest days before returning to work following a trip. 5% Pension, 24 days Holiday and Annual Profit Share c£1-3k dependent.
Located in Oxfordshire, this role is commutable from within and around the following areas: Oxford, Swindon, Newbury, Wantage, Chippenham and Cirencester.
