Overview
Tendering/ Proposals Engineer role based in Derbyshire.
This position supports major automation and control systems projects across multiple industry sectors, combining technical knowledge with commercial awareness through involvement in the full tendering process — from costing and proposal writing through to client engagement and sales support.
Responsibilities
- Produce technical and commercial tenders for automation and control system projects
- Develop project costings, tender programmes and final proposal documents
- Support directors with complex tender submissions and structured bid processes
- Monitor tender portals and identify new business opportunities
- Maintain CRM systems and sales reporting documentation
- Manage proposal templates, costing tools and sales materials
- Support client visits and incoming sales inquiries
- Contribute to social value, sustainability and governance responses within tender submissions
- What we’re looking for
- HNC or above in Electrical, Electronic, Software or related Engineering discipline
- Previous experience within a tendering or proposals environment
- Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA control systems
- Understanding of M&E installations is beneficial
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
