A growing specialist in robotics and industrial automation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of bespoke automation and robotic integration projects from contract handover through to installation and final sign-off. Following a period of change, this is a key appointment within the business and will play an important role in strengthening project delivery capability.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior engineering team, you will take ownership of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards. This is a hands-on project management role within a highly technical engineering environment. The successful candidate will have previous experience managing automation, robotics, machinery, or engineering integration projects and be comfortable coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams.

The company designs and integrates industrial robotic and automation systems across multiple sectors, with projects typically ranging from £100k–£250k.

Project Manager - The Role:
  • Managing multiple automation and robotics projects from handover through to completion
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones
  • Coordinating controls, robotics, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams
  • Managing project risks, resources, budgets, and customer expectations
  • Acting as the primary point of contact between customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams
  • Attending customer sites for project kick-offs, progress reviews, installations, and handovers
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed objectives
  • Driving continuous improvement within project delivery processes
Project Manager - The Person:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within automation, robotics, machinery, systems integration, or a similar engineering environment
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial automation and engineering project delivery
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to drive projects to completion while managing competing priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
Desirable:
  • Experience with industrial robotics or system integration
  • Understanding of UKCA / CE machinery safety standards
