A specialist engineering and design consultancy is looking to recruit two Mechanical Design Engineers to join its growing team. With a rapidly expanding order book and a strong reputation in bespoke marine and subsea equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering technically challenging, real-world engineering solutions. You’ll be joining a close-knit team of 8 engineers, working on highly bespoke projects supporting in-field operations in demanding subsea environments.
Mechanical Design Engineers - The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the full lifecycle of bespoke equipment design, from concept through to manufacture and client support.
- Concept and detailed design of bespoke marine and subsea equipment
- Performing engineering calculations, including stress analysis (Mathcad or similar)
- Supporting manufacture and assembly processes
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc.)
- Providing technical support to clients (remote and occasional site-based)
- Peer reviewing engineering designs
- Working closely within a collaborative engineering team
This is a varied role offering real ownership and exposure to challenging engineering problems.
Mechanical Design Engineers - The Person:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience of mechanical design
- Experience with calculations and stress analysis
- Background in subsea or marine design preferred
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor (advantageous, not essential)
- Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
- Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset
- Team-oriented approach with good communication skills
- Adaptability and willingness to take on varied engineering challenges
