We are partnering with a highly specialised UK engineering organisation operating at the forefront of the defence, security and advanced industrial sectors. With sustained investment, a significant order book and the commissioning of a new manufacturing facility, the business is entering a critical phase of growth. As part of this, we are seeking an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Manager to take ownership of site-wide electrical, controls and automation capability.
This is a pivotal leadership role with full technical and operational responsibility for electrical infrastructure and industrial automation across a complex, safety-critical environment. You will play a central role in:
- Shaping and delivering the site's automation and controls strategy
- Leading a multidisciplinary engineering team, building capability and driving performance
- Delivering high-value CAPEX programmes across electrical and automation systems
- Ensuring the integrity, compliance, and reliability of HV/LV distribution and control systems
- Driving optimisation of PLC and SCADA architecture to support operational excellence
- Embedding robust engineering standards, safety practices, and long-term asset strategies
This is a rare opportunity to influence the development of a modern manufacturing site at both a strategic and hands-on technical level.

- A strong foundation in electrical engineering and industrial automation, including PLC and SCADA systems
- Experience operating at a senior level within manufacturing, process or high-hazard industries
- Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering technically complex projects
- A thorough understanding of electrical distribution, compliance and safety frameworks
- The credibility and presence to influence stakeholders across engineering and operations
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to operate effectively in evolving environments
- Exposure to regulated environments and safety-critical operations will be advantageous.
Located in Ayrshire, this role would be commutable from Irvine, Kilmarnock, Prestwick, Ayr and Glasgow. Relocation assistance can be provided.
