A specialist engineering and design consultancy is seeking two Control Systems Engineers to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast-growing organisation with a strong, long-term order book and a reputation for delivering robust, bespoke solutions. The role offers exposure to technically challenging projects within power generation and renewable energy, combining hands-on engineering with structured support and training. Control Systems Engineer - The Role:
- As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of bespoke control and power systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Concept design of electrical power and control systems
- Design and implementation of Ethernet and serial communication networks
- PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell
- Production of technical documentation (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc.)
- Providing technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely
- Peer review of engineering designs
- Commissioning support at customer sites (up to 20% travel including international & offshore)
Control Systems Engineer - The Person:
- The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- PLC software experience (Siemens or Rockwell preferred, training can be given)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical (advantageous but not essential)
- Experience in power systems or high-voltage applications (highly desirable)
- Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to travel internationally when required
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
