Mechanical Engineer - The Role:

  • Lead technical analysis and concept development within the Engineering team.
  • Take responsibility for the structural integrity of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with customer, legislative and safety requirements.
  • Perform stress, fatigue and non-linear FEA calculations to support design decisions.
  • Produce test specifications, acceptance criteria and technical reports.
  • Apply relevant standards and design criteria, including Eurocodes.
  • Oversee in-house and outsourced engineering activities and conduct design reviews.
  • Liaise with customers to confirm scope, manage deliverables and support project delivery.
  • Plan and manage engineering programmes, workloads and resources.
  • Investigate non-conforming products and drive problem resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Support the training and development of engineering staff.

Mechanical Engineer - The Person:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered status desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of structural behaviour, materials and fatigue performance.
  • Proven experience in design development and FEA, including non-linear analysis.
  • Experience applying Eurocodes and assessing structural integrity.
  • Familiar with fabricated aluminium and steel structures and manufacturing processes.
  • Competent in 3D CAD tools and engineering analysis software.
  • Strong analytical, communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Willing to travel in the UK and overseas; holds a full driving licence.
  • German language skills are advantageous.

Located in Cheshire, this role would be commutable from Wilmslow, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Alderly Edge and more.
