An opportunity for a Mechanical Design Manager / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer has arisen due to internal promotion, and will be managing both mechanical design and electrical design engineering teams. You will work for a company with a keen interest in utilising the latest in cutting-edge technology, with a mix of AI, Virtual Reality, Machine Vision and Robotics.
Mechanical Design Manager - The Role:- Lead, mentor and manage a team of mechanical design engineers and electrical design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
- Oversee the entire design process, developing sales concepts into detailed solutions.
- Develop and implement processes and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to align design initiatives with strategic goals.
- Responsible for the specification of automation equipment.
- Conduct regular design reviews to maximise the quality and consistency of designs.
- Prior engineering industry experience in a mechanical design engineer or electrical design engineer role, combined with experience in a managerial role.
- Educated to degree level preferably in an Engineering discipline or related fields.
- In-depth understanding of bespoke machine building and automation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- A logical approach to problem solving with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ideally you will have a mechanical design bias; however, providing you have a good understanding of mechanical design and automation components, an electrical design engineer background would also be considered.
Located in Oxfordshire, this role would be commutable from Oxford, Witney, Kidlington, Cirencester and Bicester.
