A leading multidisciplinary design and build contractor in the UK with over a century of industry experience is currently looking for an Electrical Proposals Engineer to contribute to ongoing success in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical and Food & Beverage sectors. Electrical Proposals Engineer – The Role
- To £40k + Benefits – North West
- Opportunity to work on projects/proposals typically up to £5M
- Part of a team generating annual orders of typically £25M+
- Review tender enquiries to understand scope, technical requirements and project risks
- Identify commercial, technical and contractual risks for senior management review
- Liaise with clients throughout the bid process to clarify requirements
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates including subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Work closely with engineering teams to gather technical details and determine the best solution
- Participate in internal bid and design review meetings
- Produce clear, professional technical and commercial proposals
- Attend site visits where required to support tender preparation
- Update bid progress and information in the CRM system
- Support project handover to delivery teams when tenders are successful
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the estimating process
Electrical Proposals Engineer – The Person
- Strong technical understanding of LV electrical design
- Knowledge of MCCs, switchboards, control panels, cable sizing, motor control and field instrumentation
- Understanding of electrical control and protection principles
- Confident communicator able to work with clients, suppliers and internal teams
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Currently working towards or holding a relevant engineering degree
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple bid deadlines
- Attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving approach
- Willingness to attend site visits and engage with clients when required
This position is ideal for an experienced Proposals Engineer or Estimator, or an internal sales, technical support, electrical design or test engineer if you have experience of Motor Control Centres (MCC) for systems integration projects. Located in Cheshire, this role would be commutable from Warrington, Stockport, Leigh, Knutsford, Manchester and surrounding areas.
