Job Description

Join a global leader at the forefront of the nuclear industry, providing OEM-grade equipment and services for operational nuclear power stations and decommissioning projects.\\n\\nWe are seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead high-impact projects, shape technical solutions and guide a team of engineers delivering complex systems into regulated environments. \\n\\nLead EC&I Engineer\\n\\n£45000 – £65000 + Hybrid Working. Flexi-Time, Early Finish Friday\\n\\nWest Midlands Ref: 24908\\n\\nEC&I Engineer – The Role:\\n\\nTranslate high-level design inputs into practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions.\\nLead and manage a team of EC&I engineers and designers to deliver projects on time and within budget.\\nOversee the creation and verification of key design deliverables:\\nSchematics, GA drawings, cable schedules, FDS, software documentation, test plans etc.\\n\\nInterface coordination with other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.\\nContribute to and/or lead HAZOPs, design reviews, and safety assessments.\\nEnsure compliance with UK H&S legislation, relevant design standards, and internal quality systems.\\nIdentify and specify third-party equipment, liaising with procurement and supply chain.\\nWork closely with manufacturing, test, and commissioning teams to ensure delivery excellence.\\n\\nEC&I Engineer – The Person:\\n\\nDegree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).\\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards (IET preferred).\\nExtensive experience in electrical/control engineering in highly regulated industries – nuclear experience is beneficial.\\nDemonstrable leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.\\nStrong understanding of industry standards – knowledge of IEC 61508 is a plus.\\nMethodical and detail-driven, with a passion for producing safe and fit-for-purpose designs.\\n\\nA great opportunity to be part of a globally recognised OEM in the nuclear sector working on critical infrastructure projects that contribute to energy security and sustainability.
