Due to sustained business growth and increasing project demand, a leading automation solutions provider who are part of a well-established engineering group is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their close-knit team. Based on the scenic north east coast of the UK, this role offers the chance to work in a stable, supportive environment where your contribution will be valued across a range of industrial projects.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality electrical designs to industrial automation clients, ensuring compliance with standards while supporting innovation and efficiency in manufacturing and production.

The Role:
  • Create and develop detailed electrical schematic diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Prepare and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and procurement
  • Estimate and cost control panels from customer specifications, documentation, and site meetings
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers during design reviews and project kick-offs
  • Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate panel performance
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout the design process
The Person:
  • HNC (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline or relevant experience
  • Proven experience in the design and manufacture of industrial control panels is highly desirable
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to high-quality output
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications and liaise confidently with clients and cross-functional teams
