Leading designers and manufacturers of large robots and manipulators for a range of leading international brands immediately seeking a Controls Engineer to join team.Controls Engineer £50,000 – £65,000 + c10% Profit Share + Pension + Share Scheme + 32 Days HolidayLocation East Glasgow. Located in the Glasgow area easily commutable from Hamilton, Paisley, East Kilbride, Livingstone, Motherwell and Cumbernauld.Responsibilities Design & development of control systems for new & existing productsConfigure, program & troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens / Rockwell / Allen Bradley), HMIs & other control components to meet customer requirementsCollaborate with other engineers across cross‐functional teams to ensure control systems are integrated with other subsystemsTesting & verification to ensure systems meet performance & safety requirementsDevelop & maintain documentation including specifications, schematics & manualsProvide technical support & troubleshooting for control systemsTravel to customer sites worldwide for installation & services – typically 10 weeks per yearQualifications HND/Bachelor\’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or relevant fieldPrior experience in control system design & implementationKnowledge of control theory, control algorithms & feedback systemsPLC programming & HMI design experience – ideally Siemens TIA Portal / Rockwell / Allen Bradley Studio 5000Be familiar with functional safety & regulations – ISO 13849Willing to travel (up to 10 weeks per year) & directly deal with customersElectrical CAD software (EPlan) knowledge is beneficialAn understanding of analogue electrical circuits & components would be an advantageWould be beneficial to have experience of Hydraulic systems & componentsFor further information call John Anderson
