You will enjoy a technically challenging role, international exposure and the chance to work on highly specialised engineering projects. This leading designer and manufacturer of heavy-duty robotic handling systems and industrial automation solutions is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join their expanding R&D and Controls Engineering team.

Control Engineer

£50,000 - £65,000 + c10% Profit Share + Pension + Share Scheme + 32 Days Holiday

East Glasgow. Ref: 24173

Control Engineer - The Role:

  • Design & development of control systems for new & existing products
  • Configure, program & troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens / Allen Bradley), HMIs & other control components to meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineers across cross-functional teams to ensure control systems are integrated with other subsystems
  • Testing & verification to ensure systems meet performance & safety requirements
  • Develop & maintain documentation including specifications, schematics & manuals
  • Provide technical support & troubleshooting for control systems
  • Travel to customer sites worldwide for installation & services – typically 10 weeks per year

Control Engineer - The Person:

  • HND/Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or relevant field
  • Prior experience in control system design & implementation
  • Knowledge of control theory, control algorithms & feedback systems
  • PLC programming & HMI design experience – ideally Siemens TIA Portal / Rockwell / Allen Bradley Studio 5000
  • Be familiar with functional safety & regulations – ISO 13849
  • Willing to travel (up to 10 weeks per year) & directly deal with customers
  • Electrical CAD software (EPlan) knowledge is beneficial
  • An understanding of analogue electrical circuits & components would be an advantage
  • Would be beneficial to have experience of Hydraulic systems & components

Located in the Glasgow area easily commutable from Hamilton, Paisley, East Kilbride, Livingstone, Motherwell and Cumbernauld.
