We are looking for an Electrical Engineer whose mission is to collaborate with our customer success team in delivering precise electrical designs for each new project. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring seamless integration of our automation solutions at Automata and contributes to the development of new products to address evolving industry needs.

As an automation company, we rely on a highly skilled engineering team to provide the best products and services to our customers, and electrical engineering is a key part of that. From electrical control panels and wiring harnesses to actuators and robotics, electrical engineering is a big part of what we do.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Success org to understand project requirements and expectations for each new system.
  • Develop detailed electrical designs and specifications for automation solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical requirements, project timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and innovation in electrical design and delivery processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, including technical specifications, schematics, and progress reports.
  • Proactively identify and address any changes or challenges in project scope, schedule, or requirements.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that electrical designs meet regulatory standards, performance metrics, and customer expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise and support within the Customer Success org.

What it takes:

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial automation or a related field.
  • Proficiency in modern CAD packages, preferably EPLAN.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to electrical design and industrial automation.
  • Experience in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Working knowledge of functional safety principles.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with machine safety standards.
  • Pilz Safety controller programming experience.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for electrical installations.
  • Exposure to risk assessment methodologies and reliability engineering principles.
  • Experience with procurement and supply chain management processes.
  • Previous experience leading cross-functional teams.
