Role Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified, experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure and software related projects.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the bio-tech/pharmaceutical industry with strong stakeholder, planning and execution skills. 

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality IT delivery.  The IT project manager is responsible for realizing all IT projects within their remit, ensuring delivery to the defined requirements, quality standards, timeframe and budget. 

You will need to be able to present high level, succinct updates to senior management, ensuring that a clear and current position is presented whilst ensuring that the business goals and benefits are being achieved. Act as an ambassador of the PMO and IT, supporting growth and maturity, providing delivery through the required governance mechanisms in place and act with integrity and leading by example. 

This role is based in Stevenage with the expectation to be on site 3 days/week. Business needs will determine timing of onsite work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scope, budget estimation and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. 
  • Collaborate with team members across various functions and external vendors to ensure high-quality, on time and on budget delivery. 
  • Develop and manage project documents, including project plans, RAID log, communication plan, and budget in line with established PMO governance and methodology. 
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, escalating critical issues as needed. 
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule and budget. 
  • Lead regular status and working meetings with project team members to support delivery. 
  • Deliver high quality project deliverables on time, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project requirements with a strong focus on value 
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project health, status, risks and issues, resourcing, et al. Prepare weekly status reports and other stakeholder updates as required to support this. 
  • Manage and communicate any workstream change requests, ensuring all parties understand impacts on schedule, scope, and budget. 
  • Monitor and manage project budget, ensuring all deviations are controlled through formal change management processes. 
  • Facilitate change management activities including QMS to support adoption of new systems and processes by end-users. 
  • Evaluate technical feasibility during project planning to ensure alignment with IT capabilities and infrastructure. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and internal standards throughout project activities. 
  • Oversee the creation of user manuals, training materials, and other documents to support project implementation and client handover, as required. 
  • Implement quality control checkpoints to ensure deliverables meet organizational standards and stakeholder expectations.

E: Experience in capital projects that include IT and OT components. 

P: Experience in vendor management.  

P: Experience with project management in the Pharma or other regulated industry. 

Qualifications

E: Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or the equivalent certification 

P: Bachelor’s degree
