·Learn to set up and operate fabricating machines.
·Learn to MIG, TIG and spot weld.
·Learn to use measurement tools and equipment for inspections, such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
·Learn designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
·Learn to read blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per GD&T.
·Learn to set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer.
·Learn to develop prototype solution for stamping with Kirksite tooling.
·Learn to develop prototype solution for assembly tooling.
·Learn to run prototype parts, as necessary.
·Learn to perform all duties and operate machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
·Learn about the maintenance of good safety and housekeeping practices.
·Promote teamwork and show a willingness to work with other departments.
·Take the initiative to find solutions quickly to problems that arise.
·Demonstrate good work planning practices in order to do jobs in a very timely, efficient, and safe manner.
This full-time role is a part our Prototype Team and reports to Prototype Supervisor
Required education & experience:
·High school diplomas or general education degree (GED)
•One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
Required Skills & Abilities
·Successfully complete Hilo and Crane training program within 30 days
·Must be able to attend a four (4) year technical trades program through Axis Engineering, LLC.
·Must pass aptitude test(s)
·A Drug screen is required to enter the training program.
·Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment/machinery
·Ability to multitask.
·High level of cooperation
·High level of commitment
·Natural analytical person
