Overview

As a Payroll Associate, you will process multi-client payrolls using Sage Payroll, manage Bacs payments and HMRC submissions, and upload pension data. You will provide year-end submissions support and handle client payroll queries within a growing practice. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll cover holiday leave and collaborate with the team to ensure accurate, timely payroll services. Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly client payrolls using Sage Payroll
  • Manage Bacs payments and submit HMRC returns
  • Upload pension data to pension providers
  • Complete year-end submissions
  • Handle client payroll queries
  • Provide holiday cover for the Payroll Manager

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience in an accountancy practice
  • Proven experience running multiple client payrolls in a bureau environment
  • Proficiency in Sage Payroll
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently
