Accounts Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you will gain exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client advisory work while building strong professional relationships and delivering a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Prepare personal and corporation tax computations and returns.
- Deliver bookkeeping and management accounting services for a diverse client portfolio.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients.
- Complete Companies House and HMRC filings within required deadlines.
- Support clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation queries.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience within an accountancy practice and be confident managing a varied workload while maintaining excellent levels of accuracy and client service. You will be organised, proactive and keen to continue developing your technical accounting skills.
You should ideally possess:
- Previous experience working as an Accounts Technician, Accounts Assistant or similar within an accountancy practice.
- AAT qualification, part-qualified status or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and financial reporting requirements.
- Good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word.
