Accounts Preparation / Bookkeeping

Salary: £28,000–£35,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Preparation / Bookkeeping professional to join a friendly accountancy practice in Tiverton.

This would suit someone who is AAT qualified or working at a similar level, with solid experience in practice and who enjoys the hands-on side of accounts work.

The role would be ideal for someone who is happy working at this level long-term, rather than looking to progress into an ACA-qualified or managerial position.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing accounts for a range of clients




• Completing VAT returns




• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records




• Bank reconciliations




• Preparing accounts to trial balance




• Dealing with day-to-day client queries




• Supporting clients with their accounting requirements




• Working with a range of accounting software




• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice




• AAT qualification or equivalent experience




• Good experience preparing accounts




• Strong bookkeeping skills




• Experience completing VAT returns




• Good attention to detail and accuracy




• A practical, hands-on approach




• The ability to work independently and manage deadlines




• Good communication skills and a client-focused approach

This role would suit someone who enjoys accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT work and is looking for a stable, long-term position within a good practice.
