The Company
We are working with a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Ferndown, who are looking to recruit a Practice Accountant to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
The successful candidate will ideally be ACA, ACCA or AAT Level 4 qualified, either part or fully qualified, with previous experience working within an accountancy practice. You will manage a varied portfolio of clients and be responsible for delivering a high-quality accounts and tax service, while building strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Preparing statutory accounts.
- Preparing corporation tax returns.
- Reviewing client financial records for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Managing day-to-day client queries and requests.
- Communicating professionally with clients by telephone, email and Microsoft Teams.
- Managing internal and external email queries.
- Maintaining accurate internal records and processes.
- Following up with clients to obtain information and documentation.
- Working towards defined performance targets and KPIs.
- Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
About You
- ACA, ACCA or AAT Level 4 qualification/studies.
- Previous accountancy practice experience.
- At least two year's experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts and tax work.
- Knowledge of VAT returns and corporation tax.
- Experience using accounting software.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
- A strong team-focused approach.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £30,000, depending on experience.
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
