A well-established and growing accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Client Portfolio Manager to join their team, with the opportunity to be based in Exeter. This is a varied and client-focused role involving the management of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and planning accounts work for a mixed client portfolio
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff, including budget planning and file reviews
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and finalise accounts
  • Preparing management accounts and offering insightful commentary
  • Handling tax planning (personal and corporate), dividends, and VAT reviews
  • Advising clients on tax liabilities and providing ad hoc financial guidance
  • Attending client meetings (both in person and online)
  • Overseeing deadlines, workflow, and billing across the portfolio

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with experience in a similar role within practice
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confidently managing client relationships and leading a team
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems like Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage is desirable
  • Experience with Digita or CCH is a bonus, not essential
