Job Title: Accounts Training and Development Specialist
Location: Swansea
Salary: Up to £35,000
Autograph Recruitment are partnered with a growing, independent accountancy practice based in Swansea who are seeking an Accounts Training & Development Specialist to oversee and manage the training of trainee accountants. This role involves mentoring and guiding up to three trainees at a time ensuring they develop key accounting skills and gain practical experience. When training is not required, the role will involve assisting with accounts preparation and VAT submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide structured training in bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Teach trainees how to use accounting software packages, primarily Xero, Sage Taxation Suite, and Dext.
- Guide trainees in producing a complete accounts file.
- Train individuals to prepare accounts up to the trial balance stage.
- Provide assistance with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Ensure trainees gain hands-on experience with real accounting tasks.
- Assist with accounts and VAT preparation when training is not required.
Requirements
- Qualified (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), part-qualified, or QBE (Qualified by Experience).
- Strong experience in bookkeeping, VAT, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage Taxation Suite, and Dext.
- Previous experience in training, mentoring, or managing junior accountants is desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A structured and patient approach to training.
