Senior Accountant - Accountancy Practice (Brixham)

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, providing technical support, and assisting with staff supervision and client advisory work.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
Preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping as required
Reviewing accounts prepared by junior team members and providing mentoring or guidance
Managing client relationships and acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day queries
Supporting clients with business and tax planning advice where appropriate
Liaising with HMRC and other external bodies on behalf of clients
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
Assisting partners with ad-hoc projects and client advisory work
The Ideal Candidate:
AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified (or qualified by experience)
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an accountancy practice
Confident in preparing and reviewing accounts for a wide range of clients
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proficient in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
Able to manage workload independently while supporting junior staff where required
