Our client is looking to appoint an experienced CTA qualified Tax Manager to join their growing team on the outskirts of Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio of large and complex clients, delivering both advisory and compliance services while leading and developing a growing team. The role combines technical expertise, client relationship management and people leadership. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing strategic tax advice to clients, overseeing compliance delivery, and supporting the continued growth and development of the tax function. The successful individual will be proactive, commercially minded and confident in managing both client relationships and team performance, with the ability to work independently while contributing to the wider success of the practice. Candidates must be CTA qualified with proven experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex corporate and private clients, providing both advisory and compliance services
  • Deliver high-quality tax planning and advisory projects across a range of tax matters
  • Review and oversee the preparation of tax compliance work, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships
  • Manage, mentor and develop a growing team of three tax professionals, supporting their progression and performance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and colleagues across the wider practice
  • Work closely with Partners and senior leadership on client strategy and service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and contribute to business development activity
  • Support process improvement initiatives and help drive efficiencies across the tax department
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, professional standards and regulatory requirements
