Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in central Bath, are looking to expand its team with the addition of an Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior Accountant. This opportunity would suit someone with previous accountancy practice experience who is looking to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm where development and progression are encouraged. The firm is open-minded regarding experience level and is keen to find the right individual who is looking to build a long-term career within practice.
The Role
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Completing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with management accounts and client reporting
- Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and building strong working relationships
- Working closely with senior team members across a varied client portfolio
You will gain exposure to a broad range of clients and industries, helping you further develop both your technical skills and confidence in a client-facing role.
You will ideally have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACA / ACCA, or qualified through relevant practical experience
- Experience preparing accounts and working with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to continue learning and developing
- The ability to work independently whilst also contributing positively to the wider team
