About the Role: You will be an experienced, qualified accountant who is looking to join an accountancy practice in Clifton. You will be part of a tight-knit team, managing a portfolio of clients and providing high-quality accounting, audit and tax services. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to make a real impact on both client success and team development.
You will be:
- Acting as the main point of contact for your portfolio of clients, building strong, trusted relationships
- Preparing statutory accounts for small and medium-sized companies, including all notes and disclosures
- Reviewing management accounts and VAT returns, providing insightful guidance to clients
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, offering feedback and training to help them develop
- Staying up to date with current accounting, auditing, and tax regulations, applying your technical knowledge confidently
- Taking ownership of client issues, thinking analytically, and providing proactive solutions
Your responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service
- Deliver accurate and timely statutory accounts, audits, tax returns, and management accounts
- Train and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Maintain excellent client relationships through proactive communication and advisory support
- Identify process improvements and assist with business development opportunities
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Proven experience in general practice, including audit and accounts preparation
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting, tax, VAT and company law
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to think creatively to solve problems
- Team player who can work independently when required and manage multiple priorities under deadlines
