**Role Overview**

As a EHS Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in embedding a high-performing safety, health, wellbeing and environmental (SHW&E) culture across our UK operations. This role requires a confident influencer and subject matter expert who can provide expert guidance, constructive challenge, and strategic input — while also leading tactical execution and continuous improvement. You will contribute to shaping and delivering our SHW&E strategy, policies, and systems to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people and the resilience of our operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Partner with leaders, including the senior leadership team, to align the SHW&E strategy with business priorities and drive sustained performance improvement.
  • Provide expert advice and challenge to ensure that SHW&E is embedded into operational decisions, behaviours, and leadership accountability frameworks.
  • Lead and support strategic SHW&E initiatives and transformation projects.

**Governance, Standards & Compliance**

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHW&E management standards, procedures, and compliance systems.
  • Ensure alignment with legal requirements, ISO 45001, and Belron Group standards.
  • Maintain the Health, Safety & Environmental legal register and ensure timely communication and implementation of relevant regulatory changes.
  • Support preparation for and participation in internal audits, third-party certifications (e.g., ISO 45001, EcoVadis), and customer assessments.
  • Coordinate key statutory inspections (e.g., fire, racking) and oversee the selection and management of safety-critical equipment and PPE.

**Risk Management**

  • Guide leaders in identifying and managing operational SHW&E risks, including risk assessments, control measures, and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure effective escalation and mitigation of high-risk or non-compliant practices.

**Performance Monitoring & Reporting**

  • Drive data-informed decision-making through insightful reporting and analysis of SHW&E performance KPIs.
  • Identify trends and emerging risks to inform targeted interventions and continuous improvement.
  • Fulfil all relevant statutory reporting obligations (e.g., HSE, Environment Agency).

**Incident & Emergency Response**

  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.
  • Support leaders to implement and test emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.

**Leadership Development & Capability Building**

  • Coach and develop leaders at all levels to take visible ownership of SHW&E and ensure consistent application of standards.
  • Support the design and delivery of SHW&E training programmes, tools, and learning forums.
  • Champion SHW&E committees, working groups, and local engagement initiatives.

**Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement**

  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including Legal, Facilities, and Operations to manage shared risk areas.
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners to support occupational health, reasonable adjustments, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Create and deliver compelling SHW&E communications and awareness campaigns.

**Digital Tools & Systems**

  • Function as a “power user” for SHW&E digital platforms; support system governance, adoption, and reporting capability.
  • Leverage data and technology to track actions, monitor compliance, and deliver consistent business insights.

  • Competent in risk assessment methodologies and developing safe systems of work.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels, including executive stakeholders.
  • Effective and purposeful communicator with strong coaching, engagement and relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and SHW&E platforms.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required.
